How do you get a free Droid Charge without getting a contract?

I am in a tight spot and really need a smartphone. The other phones don't really do the job, and I really like this phone. I would be willing to pay the $300 dollars for the phone as if I were buying a two year contract. I know it's pretty much impossible, but it never hurts to ask.
